    I removed the exhaust elbows last year to look how manifolds and risers looked. They looked good and I replaced gaskets.

    First start of season. Shouldn’t be any water in block and manifolds. I drained them when I winterized last year. I think it’s rain water getting in carb. Little salt water mostly fresh water.

    I have a 97 5.7 mercruiser EFI. I went to start boat today and engine was locked up. Removed spark plugs and had water in cylinders 7&8. I winterized last year. Ran antifreeze and then drained block and exhaust manifolds. I don’t understand where water came from if I drained everything.

    I’m sure it’s gas. When I took cover off you could smell it. When I took spark plugs out and cranked engine gas came flying out. I did compression test 150-170 on all cylinders.

    I have a 97 Chaparral 2330SS. 5.7 mercruiser EFI. A couple of months ago I tried to start engine and it was locked up. There was fuel in cylinders 4&6. Also about an extra quart of fuel in oil pan. Rebuilt TBI and installed new injectors. Ran fine until I went to winterize engine and same thing...
