    On a 1976 35HP Johnson (35E76S) with rope start (only has one coil under the flywheel). What ohm reading range is acceptable between the 2 wires that go to the ignition coils? Thanks!

    Looking at buying a '76 35HP as parts for a '78 35HP.. 0389729 is the part I need, but the parts store for the '76 shows this.. 0389729 ← 0388258 I guess the original part (388258) was superseded with the 389729? If I buy the '76 and it has the superseded part, will it fit on the '78? Looks...

    35EL78R Start with no lower?

    Kluging together a 1978 35hp (35EL78R). I know there's some issues in the gear box so I don't want to assemble the lower and fill with oil if the motor won't start. Any issues with trying to start it without the lower unit? Assuming it starts I won't run it long enough to get hot...
