    lower end tick?

    hello. i have a 1996 40hp merc 4cyl. i just had work done on my lower unit and when i got it home it was in reverse. i left it in forward so i shifted it buy hand. once i got it all together and running i hear a tick tick tick. sounds like its trying to go into gear.i think its my shift linkage...
