    Thanks for replying. Ok. I had assumed that the voltage applied is relative to ground as each coil only is only connected to one side of the stator. Measuring voltage between both stator wires I get a similar peak voltage of around 260V. Sorry you are right. It's the rectifier that went...

    I have a 1998, 405LPT 2 cyl Mariner 40 (srl No. 09981263) with no spark to either cylinder. The Stator peak Voltage on each of the coil wires (measured, to ground with a DVA in line) is around 257v. The Trigger voltage, similarly measured, is 4.5v from each trigger wire when measured to ground...
