    Size air orifice?

    1988 40 horse evinrude, E40elccs spitting gas from the air orifice above the throttle. . I was reading another thread was talking about the air orifice should be a number 30. Mine reads 40. Is this the problem?

    Spitting gas from air orifice above the throttle?

    1988 40 Horse Evinrude. VRO It WTO fine and idles fine. I've been through the carburetors twice. There's no idle air adjustment screw. It's spitting gas out of the air orifice above the throttle. Could this have something to do with the timing? Or reeds/ leaf valves? Lack of compression? Too...

    Discontinued automatic oiler 1988 40 horse Evinrude

    My automatic oiler was previously disconnected from underneath the fuel line and the power cords. I suppose it would be okay to remove the whole unit from the motor? What would you suggest?

    Not running quite right.

    1988 40 horse Evinrude the model number e40elccs. Previous owner disconnected automatic oil injection. Looks like he cut some wires and the hose just below the gas inlet line. As long as I manually add oil, will this affect the operation of the motor? If so how would you recommend I repair this...

    Carburetor questions.

    I'm getting tiny spurts of gas coming out of the carburetor. It's accumulating quite a bit. Also upon acceleration that seems to be in a bog and then without giving more gas, it takes off runs good. But there is gas accumulation under the hood. 88 40 horse Evinrude.
