    Spark plug/ gap test questions

    I tested the spark gap of a 1/2" and see spark on all 3 but can't tell if it's going the whole 1/2" is that good enough or does it have to go the whole 1/2" Also, the plugs suggested fir my outboard (L77JC4)are 03 gap but the manual says 04 gap should I make the gap on those plugs 04 or leave...

    78 70hp evinrude cutting out on gear

    I had to remove my outboard and rebuilt the carbs and took it out yesterday and if I give it throttle in gear it boggs and wants to die. It will idle all day and fires right up. Any thoughts what this could be? I did replace spak plugs and it ran fine before i rebuilt the carbs. Maybe linkage...
