    90 HP Merc Starter problem

    My motor wont start at TIMES. I can see the started spin but it won't engage the flywheel. Not sure if I need a new Starter or a new bendix relay. Any help appreciated.

    90 HP Merc Saltwater 2001

    I want to replace the impeller but the problem is lining up the shift shaft with the shift collar. The last time I did it it took 2 days of frustration. Should it be in gear when I take it apart?
