    Mercury 39 - coil output but no spark ?

    Happy Friday, my son and i are rebuilding a 1968 Mercury 39. We unfortunately cant seem to get actual spark at the plug. We placed a inline light between plug wire and the plug and it does light up when the engine turns over with pull start. New plug gap at .022, points set to .020...
