    1995 Mercury 40HP ELO shift Problem

    I have the same problem. The actual shift lever has a 2 piece assembly that is adjustableattached to it. It is not painted like the rest of the motor. I'm wondering if this was an attempt to fix the "throw " problem. Crappie are ready and I'm not, thanks OMC!
