    Went back to the garage; yes, it is there (faded but readable) for the wiring on engine. There is a start, and what looks to be two stops (#1 and #2) not sure as I am reading faded decals but pretty sure. I can make out the colors. What to do next? Thanks!

    Thanks! I went to check the spark as suggested, no spark . I cannot find any emergency stop switch anywhere. Where is that on the dash? Without the switch being on, I have read that no spark will be produced. Someone really messed with this boats' wiring. The manual says it is on the control...

    Thank you for the reply. The boat is a 1989 , boat motor serial # is # 1251X9D. Th switch you mention is the missing switch; the wires are there. I have ordered an on/off switch for it; upper left, dash.
