    Hi all. I am going to look at a '97 Nitro bass boat with a '97 Merc nitro series EFI 150. Are there any known issues with this motor I should look for? How reliable are the oil injection pumps on these? I will be doing a compression test and also an on-water test drive. TIA

    I haven't done either. I do know the spitter had a nice flow of water. If it was compression, I wouldn't expect it to just die, then be hard to crank like a low battery (turned over very, very slowly) and then two minutes later fire right up and run great but I could be wrong. I'll check...
