    The black max is a beast. If it has good compression (120 PSI is really good) then the only really expensive part to replace is the stator. Everything else is affordable.     I have a 1994 black max 150 xr6. I have replaced every electrical part on the motor. Also has new fuel pump. Starts good idles good, screams when you nail it but falls on its face when you try to accelerate slowly. Also replaced the carbs but could not find the ones for that year. Found carbs...

    Motor is bullet proof. Keep the carbs clean, mix the fuel rich, and it will last forever. Contrary to popular belief you can buy parts. BRP is still in business.
