    Needle bearing grease or no?

    I have a 87 mercury 25 that I'm rebuilding and I've seen a lot of people doing different things when assembling. My question is should I use assembly grease on the needles bearings or assemble dry?

    So I'm doing a rebuild and finally have all the parts to start. Problem is I'm a dummy and forgot to look at the orientation of the old piston. Can anyone tell me which is up or down or exhaust and intake?
