    Are 1979 470 parts interchangeable with 80's models?

    I recently bought a 1979 Concord with a Mercruiser 470. The starter seems to be week and I am curious to figure out if all starters (and other parts) for the 1980's 470 engines are compatible. Also is there much of a difference in Standard spark plug wires and wires made for electronic ignitions?
