    Honda 8HP what are these holes

    "These are pics of about a 199 "These are pics of about a 1990 BF8A lowere unit. Does anyone know if these holes are normal or are they result of corrosion? The one towards the front appears to be normal, but the just in front of the prop seems the result of corrosion. Any ideas? "
