2006 Honda 225 timing belt help

I agree, I RARELY use muffs, only to do quick inspections. I should get a trash can for it though, would be much easier to assess everything. I can cross a most of those off the list, spark plugs are all good and tight, ignition coil boots are all great condition, low pressure fuel pump makes a...

2006 Honda 225 timing belt help

I didn’t measure the gap prior to adjusting, I adjusted them to .30mm and I couldn’t get that slid in there even a little bit so I’d imagine it was .28mm or less which is the absolute minimum you can go. I have a mechanic stethoscope and I’m still having a hard time pinpointing it. It does...

2006 Honda 225 timing belt help

I replaced all tensioner and idler pulleys as well as the tensioner springs, pretty much any contact point that with the exception of the crank and camshaft gears. On another note, do you know if I have to drain the oil to adjust the valves?

I appreciate the reply, plan on attacking the valve adjustment tomorrow morning to see if there’s any strong tell take for the tapping. Hoping that’ll be the issue

2006 Honda 225 timing belt help

Hi, recently did the timing belt and tensioners on one of my 225’s (doing other when parts arrive) but since I’ve replaced everything I have a light tap noise coming from the top of the motor. 1.) is the tapping noise due to needing a valve adjustment? 2.) why would it just start tapping...
