DT25 1987 outboard motor sucked in sand

I don’t know anything about a Suzuki motor, but I’ve run a Volvo I/O into the mud once, & several 9.9 hp Evinrude outboards into soft bottoms while fishing. Each time, they seemed to self flush, & I had no overheating issues. My current Volvo always seems to collect some debris in valve that...

    1996 EVENRUDE 20HP HELP NEEDED

When you get the rebuild kit, there are probably 3 different gaskets m (part #11). Compare to the one already on the carb…but also look closely at how the gasket covers, or doesn’t cover, each of the passages. It’s possible that some monkey attempted a previous rebuild, & used the wrong one.

care to comment on my spark plugs?

What exactly are you worried about? If the engine is running fine, keep going. Personally, I have outboard engines that have had the same spark plugs in them for five or six years. A chainsaw that cuts approximately seven bush cords of wood a year plus other year man jobs does not have a spark...

    1996 EVENRUDE 20HP HELP NEEDED

It’s close enough. Look up the parts diagrams for both years carbs, you will see they are Similiar. About 1991 they went to the carbs with the “nozzle well” & “flex tube”. Yours shows the same setup. I didn’t watch the video, can’t vouch for how good it is…watch a couple, from those years

89 Evinrude 40 HP ran great, for about 150 feet

Doesn’t matter if it’s in neutral, Fwd, or reverse…the driveshaft still spins, meaning the pinion gear at the bottom of that shaft also spins…& that gear is locked to the shaft, meaning an issue there could be the cause of your stiff spot.

    1996 EVENRUDE 20HP HELP NEEDED

I believe it’s just a plug. #15 is the ideal mix adjustment.IIRC, Some models around that vintage used the same top cover, & made some changes during the year. I have a 1996, 9.9 with a top cover that is similiar. #19, along with a small rubber O-ring plugs that passage. In fact, the part is...

West Marine Washington NC Going into Liquidation Sale.

All West Marine in Canada shuttered a few years ago. It was a shame to lose a store that carried many OEM products. However, much was self inflicted. Every time I called, to ask if they had a part or item, before making a 1+30 drive, I got the same response, “do you have the part #”. That was...

Is my Sea King Air Cooled

Does it have “fins” on the engine block? If so, definitely air cooled. I cannot find that model #. Most of these motors can be located here, looking at the common Sea King, (Montgomery Ward), doesn’t bring yours up. https://www.discount-marine-parts.com/
