    Internal fuel/oil line sizes on DT8C - Any aftermarket solutions?

    I am cleaning up the carb and installing a new inline fuel filter. The fuel lines themselves are pretty hard. Looking at the parts listing the motor calls for 5x8 and 5x9mm hoses. The hoses are super expensive from Suzuki. Has anyone used anything aftermarket to plumb the inside of their engine?

    damage from overheat?

    I fired up my 89 DT8C and let it run for a bit. I noticed after maybe a minute it wasnt pushing water. I lowered the engine deeper in the water and it started drawing water again. I got some steam from the motor for maybe 20 seconds and then things seemed to return to normal. No knocking...

    Any thoughts on DT8C

    Looking at a boat with an early 90's DT8C. Just looking for any impressions or things to be concerned about with this engine. Where there common problems? Thanks Derek.-
