    1988 30hp evinrude with controls; will not throttle down to low idle after going fast

    I recently bought an older 16ft LUND with a 1988 30hp evinrude motor with side console/controls. motor fires up fine, idles low, but as soon as I push throttle into forward or reverse and give it some juice, when I bring throttle back down toward neutral the speed of impeller doesn't come back...
