    Engine won’t shut off

    I have a 1987 Johnson 150hp outboard and I I replaced the stator because it was only firing on 3 cylinders. Now after installing the new stator the engine will not shut off with the key or the tethered kill line. So I replacef the old stator back and the the ignition works properly. Any thoughts...
