    Wiring a 2004 40 HP mercury pull start to charge battery

    Looking to get my 2004 40 hp mercury ml to charge a battery, the motor has 2 yellow wires coming from under the flywheel that dead end with bullet plugs but not connected to anything... do I need a regulator or something like it ? OT 952592 serial #. Tia
