    1994 Johnson 4 hp seahorse /Generic questions

    What gear oil should I use for the lower unit? I took the propeller and gear out along with the skeg. I looked up in the exauhst housing and saw a bunch of light brown milky looking oily residue all over the inside and the shaft. Is this normal.
