    90 Hp Mariner Slipping in forward and reverse

    I just bought a boat with a 90 hp Mariner. The motor runs great but in gear forward and reverse its slipping, and there is a loud clunking sound. The faster I try to go the worse it slips and makes the loud sound. I am not sure what year the motor is the serial number is 6625046 Can anyone help me?
