    Magneto plate sticking to flywheel

    I haven’t checked that, we did open up the flywheel to sandpaper the points and that’s all we did. The engine has been sitting for years and we haven’t been able to start it yet but it has great spark. How do I know the coils have been adjusted/seated properly?

    Magneto plate sticking to flywheel

    So why does the magneto plate keep sticking to the flywheel when turning the motor over. It snaps back and makes a bad sound, video below. Any ideas? It is a evinrude big twin 35 or 40hp probably 1960’s
