    1970's Mercury 850 With thunderbolt ignition, will start but that is it....

    I have been working on my boat motor, replaced the rotten wiring, trigger and water pump. It will start and idle but has some kick back(like a backfire). When I shut the motor down and start it again with wire #2 off of plug #2 the engine runs great. (very small miss). The fuel ball pumps up...
