    The boat has been sitting for a long time and from what I was told motor would not start. now he is ready to get it in the water and see if it will run without choking out. he is going to try and adjust the carbs today

    oily gritty gunk coming out of exhaust?

    I was told there is a evinrude 225 on our 1979 checkmate... the mechanic has rebuilt all carbs two times, new stator, new fuel pump, new water pump, spark plugs, plug wires, new fuel line, new primer solenoid... why is there gunky, oily, sandy stuff that is coming from what seems like the exhaust?
