    Can a bad stator cause all of these symptoms?

    I have a 1990 50 Johnson, j50pleaa. Initially, my motor would have difficulty idiling, now, I can barely start the engine if I give it full throttle at idle. I replaced the regulator/rectifier, completely rebuilt the carbs, replaced all of the fuel lines, and the fuel filter. The engine sputters...
