    Buying a mako 1978 with I think 1993 motor but stalling at low speed foe to fix

    Hi I am buying a 1978 make and I think a 1993 evinrude with 200 hp. I took it for a ride and every time I put it in gear until i had the fully opened up it would stall out? What does this mean and how can I fix this problem? Ocean pro model # E200TXETF not sure if this is a 1993 motor or older...
