    mercruiser 2001 5.7 gas bravo 3 o d.

    gears in neutral, can obtain 5000 rpm. in forward can only get 3200 rpm. tilt in down position, trim tabs level, throttle full forward. prop clear, no debris. new fuel filter on engine and inline. new bottom paint.

    merc-cruise 5.0 sterndrive.

    is it possible for gear lube to leak into the bilge from the outdrive?

    mercruiser, bravo 3, 5.0, 2001 oil pressure

    at 2000rpm and over, oil pressure normal at 40psi. decreasing rpm to idle, pressure drops to 20psi. engine runs great. no leaks or other signs of problem. uses no oil. regular maintenance of filter and system. opinions or suggestions of problem? engine completely rebuilt in 2006 by searay dealer.
