    Rpm gauge is stuck at 1000

    2003 Mariah SX22 with 5.0 MPI Mercruiser, Alpha 1 outdrive. Needle on RPM gauge is stuck at 1000 with engine on or off...any ideas what is wrong and/or how to fix? Thanks!
