    Pieces of air filter sucked into engine

    I have a 2012 mercury 90 hp efi outboard that had a spongey looking air filter on it... I noticed the air filter was missing a big chunk of it and some of it had to have been sucked into the engine. I replaced it with mercurys new version air filter..the engine starts fine and runs good at...
