    Mercury 98 serial # 4080220

    "I just got a 9.8 Mercury with "I just got a 9.8 Mercury with the serial #4080220, does anyone know what year this motor is? Also the linkage was working then I pushed the forward reverse shifter in and out and now it wont shift at all? Any ideas?"
