    1998 mercury force wont idle

    I just bought a boat with this motor it had been sitting for a year , the gas was bad but it would idle.. so I cleaned the carb as best I could.. now it wont start un less you take the cover off and give it a little throdle and hold it if you put it in gear it runs fine... any ideas
