    Update - The sensor worked great. Not sure on accuracy, but at least gave me some data. My alarm is going off when the temperature is hitting 131 degrees. Not sure what my next step is :-( FYI - this is the kit I brought...

    Steady Alarm as high throttle, stops when I slow down

    Re-created 2 more times watching closely. Shortly after the temperature gauge hit 131 the alarm went off. I'd have to throttle down to a near idle and then it would stop. The last time my son noticed that the water from the telltale was steaming when we were idling after the alarm went off...

    So I'm out on the lake now and did have the issue reoccur. The temperature gauge read like 132 when the alarm went off and maxed at 142 (if memory is correct). After slowing down to an idle and then picking up some speed it then came down into the 120s. So thoughts on next steps?

    Would I be able to put a 1/8 -27 NPT Temperature Sender in place of this Brass Pipe Plug on a 1987 50 HP Mercury Outboard? I'm not sure what this plug is for and am trying to find a way to add a temperature gauge to troubleshoot a random alarm? If not, does anyone have other ideas on how else...
