    Mariner 40efi intermittant problem

    2005 4 stroke engine. Seems to go into "safe" mode on an intermittant basis, usually after being at low revs for a while, and will not accelerate when throttle opened. Occaisionally stops completely when this happens. However switching off and restarting immediately appears to cure the problem...
