    Mercury 1973 115 hp 1150 Distributor Removal???

    Is it possible to remove the distributor without removing the flywheel? I have a 73 Merc 1150. I took the timing pulley cover off, but can't get the pulley out from under the flywheel. Doesn't seem to be enought clearance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello everyone, I just got a boat with a 1973 Mercury 1150 Thunderbolt on it. 115 hp. I was told, "the engine needs some work." Whatever that means. I would like some guidance on how to go about checking this thing out and getting it going again. I have never worked on a boat motor before...
