    Oops you’re right I mistyped, it is indeed a 76. The 73 at the end of the serial # got me mixed up.

    I have the serial number it’s 4364673. But isn’t that just going to bring up pull start parts? I’m trying to convert it to electric start.

    I recently acquired a 1973 mercury 402 40hp. It’s a pull start and from what I understand they made the same model in what they call a 402E and a 402EL Was wondering if there’s a kit out there that will convert it over to electric start, or if I’m just stuck with a sore arm haha.
