    1989 4.3 L fuel problem?

    I have an 89 4.3 that starts and idles great but bogs when you rev the engine.It ran great and then this started suddenly. I took out the fuel filter in the carb and it was paper and looked compressed,twisted. Tried a new type(solid cartridge) did not make a difference.Can you runs these...
