    Need help with engine choices

    I'm looking at two boats a I'm looking at two boats and having a hard time deciding. The first boat is an '03 with a 3.0 litre inboard Mercruiser. The second is a '96 with a Mercury jet drive. I'd like to know the pros and cons of each engine. Thank you for your help.

    "I can't shift out of reve "I can't shift out of reverse. With the lower unit off, the shift shaft rotates both ways when I shift from forward to reverse. When the lower unit is back on it's stays in reverse. I can still move the shift lever up front forward and back but it's not shifting...

    I just bought a boat which has I just bought a boat which has a Mariner 55 hp motor. It says model number 55EL 663 L 320910. Can anyone tell me what year this is and if it's a good model or a little history about it. Thank you in advance.
