Mercruiser pointsAnyone who has owned a boat for more than a handful of yeas has probaly come upon some sort of ignition trouble. Keeping your MerCruiser ignition system in good tune requires some care. Checking on points, condensers, distributor caps, rotors, ignition coils, spark plugs and leads is common. Changing from a points based distributor to an electronic one, or installing a conversion kit is often a step taken to bring older tempermental motors into a more reliable modern state of operation.
