1989 Yamaha Excel-F {V6-3ea. 2 barrel carbs} real gas hog! lol but I love it.
I had it since it was new and I have replaced several fuel pumps. It has 2.
I feel when both pumps are new/rebuilt and good it is right at the limit of ability to provide sufficient fuel. IF a small decrease in its capacity come about, I have to get home with one pump and that is not enough to get my rig on plane. The last time was a real mess as I was some 60 miles from the marina! ahhhhh! Took me till after dark to get there.
QUESTION: IS there an “upgrade” for these pumps in volume/capacity? Can an electric pump conversion be had?

Jim,
You will get better luck poating this to the Yamaha Outboard section. |
