I have an awsome shape 1973 22' reinell that has been in the family since 1974. The ford 302 v8 needs rebuilt and I'm trying to figure out if I should repower it with an updated EFI motor with simular power or just rebuild what i have. What kind of modifacations will i need to do with repowering? Any ideas |

the rebuild will be easier and cheaper, especially if you can do most of the grunt work. the drawback is doing it right will take a lot of time.
The repower has the benefit of 'new' stuff with a warranty. the extent of the changes will be driven by who's package when it (originally) and which one you select for a replacement. I'd expect wiring harness, instrument panel and maybe exhaust changes at a minimum. Maybe some stringer/mount work, too if changing OEMs.
