I have an awsome shape 1973 22' reinell that has been in the family since 1974. The ford 302 v8 needs rebuilt and I'm trying to figure out if I should repower it with an updated EFI motor with simular power or just rebuild what i have. What kind of modifacations will i need to do with repowering? Any ideas |

the rebuild will be easier and cheaper, especially if you can do most of the grunt work. the drawback is doing it right will take a lot of time. The repower has the benefit of 'new' stuff with a warranty. the extent of the changes will be driven by who's package when it (originally) and which one you select for a replacement. I'd expect wiring harness, instrument panel and maybe exhaust changes at a minimum. Maybe some stringer/mount work, too if changing OEMs. You may want to use the search button at the top and select the brand at the bottom of the search windo for more specifics tailored to your need. |
