about to purchase a 98 sundance 37' with recently rebuilt engines, 30 hrs, during sea trial , when the port engine was started it sounded rough, or like a slight tap, we ran boat and it ran ok, engine rpms were just below 4000.
i had a compression test doen and the compression was good. just a slight miss or tap at start up, and when reving engine its not noticable, or runnuing boat for over 2 hours , it was fine at higher speeds.. the plugs were all pchenged out after compression test, one plug had a bit of rust. it seems either there is a nit of water gettin into the cylnder, a fuel injector issue, maybe a bad distributer cap.
just want to make sure its not in need of a new engine. any ideas or assistanc e would be appreciated. |

Get a survey BEFORE buying that boat! Trust me on this. Big block 454s are famous for sucking water in.
