I am hoping some folks could help me think through and overheating problem I am having with my C221 Isuzu, 1971, 60hp with fresh water cooled from sea water exchanged... in my sailboat. I have been chasing this for awhile and have replaced all hoses, themostat, flushed motor, checked sea and fresh water impeller and pump... Still, I am losing water and have to put about a half gal in after an hour of running.
The motor has 2ooo hours on it, an estimate. It runs great.
The other problem I may have fixed was the injector pump making oil and passing oil diluted with diesel out the overflow of the pump. I think I unblocked the tank vent and relieved the pressure.. I think.
I appreciate any comments or referrals you may make. I am trying hard to get this boat into reliable coastal cruising shape.
