Hey guys, We just bought an old boat with Merc. 100hp with a Thunderbolt system on it. This is a motor with a red decal. The previous owner spent $1000 on a rebuild, but drew the line at replacing the "powerpack", which has a crack in the rubbery green part( my ignorance is showing). I don't know what year it is, but we gave very little for it and wondered how hard it would be to get it running. The numbers on this part are 094466-6. Any info would be appreciated. By the way, the motor is on an old Atlas Traveler with another 100hp merc for parts for $300. Good buy, bad buy? Thanks |

Erik, I can't comment on the Atlas traveler, what I will tell you is most run down boats are worth near negative $$. I've seen adds that actually stated "galvanized trailer with 20ft boat, $300 with boat, $500 without". As far as $300 for the two merc's and one of them is rebuilt, that's a good deal for sure. As far as the powerpack, you don't have a powerpack on the parts engine? If you don't and can't find a local source for that part, there's a company called "precision mfg"; they are out of Clearwater Florida and have a web page - they are on the web and do mail orders and carry remanufactured electronic's. Good luck, Jon |
