I have a 1996 Yamaha 75 hp 3 cyl with no spark
on any of the cylinders. Any ideas on where
to start looking? |

Eliminate the stop circuit first. Disconnect the main harness at the motor. Disconnect the brown wire bullet connector that goes to the starter solenoid. Take a jumper wire or a start button from the male bullet to the positive battery connection on the starter solenoid in order to crank the motor. You may want to hook up the water flushettes just in case the motor starts - You won't be able to shut it off with the main harness disconected. If still no spark, problem is on the motor - stator, pulser coil, or CDI module. With all three cylinders out, probably CDI, but you must eliminate the stator and pulser. A peak-reading voltmeter is the best tool, but their are resistance tests - not as reliable. |

try a spark test first..it will tell you if you have spark on the cylinders |
