Hey Tony

You can use snowball toilet cleaner for mild rust or muratic acid for taking heavy rust off iron. Depending on how heavy it is in what you use. Try to avoid the fumes from the acids. But it works.

Tony, If you want to make a thorough job of de rusting your engine. Try immersing it in "corrodip".....available from Oakford Resources 01794 884963. This not only de rusts the outside but also cleans out the passageways that you cant see or get at with a blaster.Ive been using this for quite some time . It doesnt damage paint or intricate mechanisms.

Baking soda in a small sandblaster will amaze you. If in a large town/city, look for a "ice blasting" service.
