this motor hasn't been started in 3 years and before that was only run for a week 5 years ago. the OMC electronic box was replaced twice before being run that week. tried starting it today and no spark. can't afford to keep changing the box. my question is: is there a way to change the box to a different system on this motor? I think they changed to a different system after 72 or 73. any help will be appreciated. |

Pull the flywheel,vent housing and check anti reversing spring,points,and have rotor and venthousing(distributor cap)tested.Test test the ignition safety module.Have coil tested. Check and resolder the connector at the solenoid that feeds 12 volts to the ignition switch. |
