| How do I break-in a rebuilt engine |

After replacing seals and rings on my 1974 115 HP Johnson, i would like to have the motor broken in. What is the best way of doing this? Thanks

Billy,
Generally you use extra oil for the first ten hours (25 to 1), and avoid running the engine at a constant rpm.
For the first hour run between a high idle and half throttle.
For the next couple of hours you can get up on plane but avoid full throttle. Vary the engine speed between 3/4 throttle and just enough to maintain plane. Come off plane and down to high idle frequently.
For the next couple of hours you can use full range, but continue to vary engine speed. Gradually increase the time you run at full throttle.
