Hello i have a 1976 85hp Evinrude outboard motor and one of the plug holes where striped and when i was out fishing the plug blew out,it sounded like a shot gun i tried to put it back in but it blew out agine so i said to hell with and drove back in with the plug out. Do you think that this will hurt the motor in any way? It ran like crap all the way back in i am getting a helicoil for the head. I think that should solve it. What do you think? |

Sounds good to me Josh. I would have done the same thing, and I seriously doubt if you damaged anything. The heli coil insert was the proper choice.
